Strengthening digital skills of the tourism sector in El Salvador
The USAID El Salvador Project, in alliance with CONEXION, will incorporate digital strategies into business models in at least 75 SMEs and 3 tourist destinations.
The Project has been promoting actions to execute a program that consists of taking advantage of new technologies to increase the efficiency and productivity of businesses and find new opportunities that lead to the business success.
Through this activity, 75 SMEs from the tourist destinations of Ruta de Paz, Ruta Volcán de San Salvador-Santa Tecla, Concepción de Ataco and other tourist destinations that can be identified will be supported to participate in a program for Strengthening and Development of Digital Skills , in order to increase income through the use of electronic channels, platforms of payments and promotion through digital channels.
The phases of the program are:
- Business diagnosis
- Technical assistance, which includes training program
- Tourist destination websites
At the end of the day, we seek to strengthen the companies located in the prioritized tourist destinations, through expert couching, tools and virtual training and so that they can incorporate digital transformation strategies focusing on the whole tourist destination and providing with individual digital strategies in their companies, strengthening their business models in order to increase their income and they will be able to be more sustainable.
The skill development areas or virtual training may be e-commerce, stores or shopping cart management instruction (online sales, orders, reservations, market rates), method of payments training (on-line and off-line means of payments, quality control processes, payment gateway integration), digital marketing workout (email marketing campaigns, SEO, web analytics, marketplaces), logistics classes (shipping price tables, integration with courier, shipping options), social media and advertisement channels (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), e-catalogs in Content Management System (Product photo editing tools, product photography), among others that depend on the result of the diagnosis.
